DA Hike 2025: This festive Season can become very special for the central government employees and pensioners. If everything goes right, they would receive good news just ahead of Holi 2025. This year Holi is on March 14, and it is assumed that the government will announce the hike on dearness allowance for the central government employees before Holi. The hike in DA is to relieve the inflation, which has a high possibility of increased salaries of employees and pensions of pensioners (Salary and Pension Hike).

It is noted that dearness allowance (7th Pay Commission DA Hike 2025) has been increased two times in a year under the 7th Pay commission. The first increase takes effect from January 1 and the second increase is effective from July 1. Thus, the first increase for 2025 will be effective from January 1 in 2025 and the announcement would be released officially in March 2025. But so far, no such announcement has been made by the government.

Pensioners Will Also Benefit

This rise in DA has a direct benefit for the government employees as well as pensioners. This time more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from it. Let us tell you that Dearness Allowance (DA) is meant for employees and for pensioners it is termed as Dearness Relief.

What Percentage Of Dearness Allowance Was Increased Last Year?

The government has raised DA by 3% deferring it to October last year, thus resulting in DA becoming 53% from 50%. In addition, from 4% increment in March this year, the DA became 50%.

Calculation Of DA

The all India consumer price index is the basis on which dearness allowance gets fixed. Keeping in view the average last 12 months of AICPI data, the government decides the rates of Dearness Allowance i.e. DA or Dearness Allowance Hike and Dearness Relief Hike.
